Speeding Crackdown Continues 15 Jul 13

A statewide crackdown on speeding continues through this coming weekend. The extra enforcement involves the State Patrol and numerous other law enforcement agencies. Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Nathan Bowie says that a majority of speed-related crashes occur on rural roads. He says driving at unsafe and illegal speeds is a leading factor in fatal crashes, and accounts for around 80 traffic deaths annually in Minnesota – 243 deaths in the last three years.
