A special event is being held in New Ulm this (WED) afternoon to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg and the importance of the 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment in the battle. Activities are taking place in Riverside Park in New Ulm from 4 to 8:30pm. The event is free, with the grounds opening at 3:30. Highlights include live music from the Original German Band, the New Ulm Municipal Band and Dick Kimmel and Company, food, cannon fire from the New Ulm Battery, performances by the New Ulm Actors Community Theatre, and more.
