MN Gas Prices Stable 05 Jul 13

Analysts expect political turmoil in Egypt will have little if any effect on gas prices in Minnesota over the Fourth of July holiday But Gail Weinholzer with Triple-A Minnesota adds investors are a bit nervous that trouble could spread to other Middle Eastern countries, or disrupt the Suez Canal. She says while Egypt is not a major exporter of crude oil, the Suez Canal is a very important passageway for that commodity. Weinholzer says it’s “highly unlikely” gas prices will get back anywhere near four-dollars a gallon in Minnesota — unless the conflict spreads or affects the Suez Canal.
