A Minneapolis man accused of killing a Mankato woman earlier this summer made his first appearance in court Thursday morning since being indicted on 2 counts of Premeditated 1st-Degree Murder by a Blue Earth County Grand Jury. Prosecutors requested that bail be increased for 24-year old Levi Minissale, while his attorney said that the current bail amount was “tantamount to setting no bail” as Minissale was already unable to come up with the million dollar bail already in place. The alleged fatal stabbing of 20-year-old Yesenia Gonzalez happened in early June. She was reportedly the ex-girlfriend of Minissale, who is also accused of attacking her husband, who did survive. In court Thursday the judge did agree to the request for increased bail, setting it at $1.5-million with conditions and $3-million without conditions.
