A 2-year-old North Mankato girl was seriously injured in a car crash in Silver Lake Saturday afternoon that also left 4 other people injured. The State Patrol says that 2-year-old Brynlee Wilhelm was taken to the Hutchinson Hospital for treatment following the crash, which happened at around 1pm Saturday. The girl was a passenger in a Ford Fusion driven by her mother, 27-year-old Amber Bianchi of North Mankato. They were westbound on Highway 7 when the collision with another westbound vehicle occurred near the intersection with McLeod County Road 2. Bianchi and her other passenger, her 4-year-old son, both suffered non-life threatening injuries, along with the occupants of the other vehicle, driver 81-year-old Harold Hanson of Hutchinson and his passenger, 74-year-old Beverly Hanson.
A 16-year-old St. Peter girl was injured in a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 169 in St. Peter Sunday afternoon. It happened at around 2:15pm at the intersection with St. Julien Street. A Chevy Trailblazer driven by 39-year-old Joseph Zachman of St. Peter was hit by a Chevy Silverado driven by 21-year-old Joshua Bruns of Waterville when Zachman pulled out onto the highway. Michaela Zachman was transported to River’s Edge Hospital in St. Peter with non-life-threatening injuries following the crash. Both drivers and 4 other passengers in Zachman’s vehicle escaped injury.
