Kansas City third baseman Mike Moustakas [[ moo-STAH-kuss ]] left the yard twice and knocked in four runs to lift the Royals past the Twins 7-2 in the opener of a three-game set at Target Field. Ervin Santana grabbed his seventh win of the season, holding the Twins to two runs over seven innings and striking out eight. Kansas City moved to 52-and-51 on the year, sitting above .500 for the first time since May 18th. The Royals have won seven in-a-row. Joe Mauer and Ryan Doumit each had an RBI for Minnesota. Mike Pelfrey fell to 4-and-9, giving up four runs and eight hits in four innings. The Twins have lost four-of-six.
Twins Resume Series With Royals Tonight
The Twins resume their three-game series with the Royals tonight at Target Field. Kevin Correia will get the start for Minnesota. He is 7-and-7 with a 4.56 ERA in 20 starts this season.
