A trial date has been set for a Janesville Police officer facing a 3rd-degree assault charge. The felony stems from an incident at Club 57 in Waseca in late February. Part-time police officer Michael Danberry was allegedly involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a fight in which Danberry struck a man in the face several times with his knee, breaking the victim’s nose as a result. Danberry was off-duty at the time, and was reportedly suspended from the police department following the incident. He will be back in court for a pre-trial hearing in October, and his jury trial is then scheduled to get underway on November 13th.
