Hometown Hero For July 10 Jul 13

KNUJ’s Hometown Hero for the month of July is Carl “Red” Wyczawski of New Ulm. Wyczawski moved to New Ulm in the 1950s and was elected mayor in 1970, serving 6 terms covering 24 years. He was involved in the dedication of Schonlau Park and the building of the Glockenspiel, oversaw the development of many of New Ulm’s recreational facilities, and served on numerous community organizations over the years. He was also inducted into the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame last year, and was the recipient of the New Ulm Sertoma Club Service to Mankind Award earlier this year. The Hometown Hero recognition is sponsored by KNUJ AM & FM and select Thrivent Financial For Lutherans agents. You can nominate YOUR Hometown Hero at the KNUJ and SAM 107.3 studios in New Ulm and Sleepy Eye, or by clicking here: http://www.knuj.net/announcements/hometown-heros/submit-your-hometown-hero/
