The start of a major road construction project on Highway 5 from Arlington to Green Isle scheduled to get underway this week has been delayed by 2 weeks. The $5-million project is now set to begin on Monday, August 12th, and will include the grading and reclamation of Highway 5, as well as bituminous mill and overlay and bridge construction. When the work begins the highway will be closed in both directions between Sibley County Road 13 in Arlington and County Road 61 near Green Isle. The project will detour traffic to Sibley County Road 9, McLeod County Roads 1 and 10, and Carver County Road 50. Heavy Commercial Traffic will be detoured to Sibley County Roads 13 and 15. The project is scheduled to be completed on October 18th.
