Two New Ulm Accidents Tuesday 19 Jun 13

A bicyclist was hit by a pickup truck in New Ulm Tuesday evening. It happened at around 6pm at the intersection of 7th North Street and Broadway in New Ulm. Authorities say that 59-year-old Timothy Frechette of New Ulm was biking southbound on the east side of Broadway when he entered the intersection and was struck by a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 32-year-old Bennie Moore Jr of Redwood Falls as he was turning right onto Broadway. Frechette was knocked to the street after being struck, and was treated at the scene by emergency personnel before being taken away in an ambulance with unidentified injuries.

A New Ulm man was injured in a motorcycle accident on the west end of New Ulm Tuesday afternoon. 59-year-old Timothy Dugger was driving a 1980 Honda Road Start motorcycle eastbound through the roundabout on Highway 14 in New Ulm when a car suddenly pulled beside him at around 3pm and then rapidly accelerated out of the roundabout. Dugger reportedly avoided a collision by tipping his cycle and rolling over the handlebars and onto the road. He suffered injuries to his back and an arm. Authorities are now looking for the driver of the red Honda 4-door involved in the incident. She has been described as a female teenager with shoulder-length brown hair. Anyone with information should contact New Ulm police.
