The Minnesota Twins hit four home runs and Scott Diamond pitched six scoreless innings in a 10-0 win over the Seattle Mariners during the rubber match of this three-game series Sunday at Target Field. Josh Willingham had a two-run homer and Ryan Doumit, Chris Herrmann and Brian Dozier each added solo shots. Diamond (4-4) had an impressive performance, allowing just five baserunners on four hits and a walk while striking out three. It was his first win in his last five starts.
Colabello To Rochester
Following their 10-0 win over Seattle, the Twins announced that they optioned infielder Chris Colabello to Triple-A Rochester. In two stints with the Twins this year, Colabello appeared in six games hitting .133 (2-for-15). To replace Colabello on the 25-man roster, the Twins will make a corresponding roster move prior to Tuesday’s game in Kansas City.
