Hicks Onto DL
The Twins have placed rookie outfielder Aaron Hicks on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring. Hicks suffered the injury in the fifth inning of Sunday’s loss to Washington. The 23-year-old is hitting just .179 in 55 games. The Twins recalled outfielder Oswaldo Arcia from Triple-A Rochester to fill the roster spot.
Phils’ Kratz Has Medial Meniscus Tear
An MRI on Phillies catcher Erik Kratz has revealed a medial meniscus tear in his left knee that will require surgery. Kratz suffered the injury in the Phils’ 4-3 loss to the Brewers on Saturday. He is hitting .229 with eight homers and 22 RBI in 43 games this season. He was placed on the disabled list and will miss this week’s series in Minnesota.
