State Softball Today 06 Jun 13

All three Minnesota high school teams that won state championships last year in softball are back to defend their crowns this season. The 2013 state softball tournament begins this morning in North Mankato. Stillwater Area returns as the defending champ in Class 3-A, while New Ulm hopes to defend its Class 2-A title, and Cherry is the returning Class 1-A titlist. New York Mills in Class 1-A and Pequot Lakes in Class 2-A are making their first-ever state tourney appearances. Games are scheduled to begin this morning with the tourney slated to finish tomorrow.
