The New Ulm City Council is scheduled to re-visit a proposed lease agreement for M-R Paving to manage the city’s compost and burn site during its meeting this (TUE) evening. This comes after councilors asked for some clarification in the wording of the contract during the council’s last meeting. The agreement will save the city around $30,000 annually with the 11-acre site being rented to M-R Paving. The Council’s requested changes to the lease were intended to keep the operation of the site similar to the city’s current setup. New Ulm residents will still be able to drop off yard waste at the site, although M-R will be selling the compost. In other business this evening, the council will approve the final assessment roles for the city’s 2012 surface reconstruction projects, and set the date for a public hearing. Today’s New Ulm City Council meeting starts at 5pm at City Hall.
