MSU Gage Towers Demolition 27 Jun 13

Thousands of people are expected to be on hand in Mankato Saturday morning when 300-pounds of explosives are used to implode MSU’s Gage Towers dormitories. The 12-story buildings constructed in the 1960′s are being razed as part of the university’s master plan. The towers were permanently closed last August after housing more than 50,000 students over the years. A carnival-like atmosphere is being planned for the 9:30am event at MSU Saturday, and several commemorative items will be on sale.
