May Minnesota Jobs Report 21 Jun 13

Minnesota’s unemployment rate held steady at 5.3% in May. State Jobs Analyst Steve Hine says that after two months of cuts, employers added 8,400 jobs last month. He says that the gains were driven by seasonal jobs, including construction, which gained 1,000 jobs, and leisure and hospitality, which gained 2,900. Hine says that job losses did occur last month in trade, transportation and utilities, as well as information and mining and logging.
