A rural Madison Lake man is facing multiple charges for allegedly selling methamphetamine and threatening to kill a police informant, as well as for having a young child nearby when he was making the drug deal. The home of 27-year-old Charles Elden Stanke was searched last week after drug investigators allegedly used an informant to buy around 7 grams of meth from him. Stanke and 25-year-old Jennifer Lynn Bartelt of Waseca were both arrested during the search after around 11 grams of meth and items of drug paraphernalia were reportedly found. During his arrest Stanke allegedly threatened to kill the person who turned him in. He also faces extra charges for the crime because Bartelt’s 6-year-old daughter was apparently waiting in a nearby vehicle when the informant purchased the meth. Both Stanke and Bartelt have been charged with selling and possessing drugs as well as child endangerment and other crimes. Stanke also faces a terroristic threats charge. They made their first appearances in Blue Earth County Court this week.
