Fatal New Ulm Motorcycle Crash 27 Jun 13

A New Ulm man was killed Wednesday evening after his motorcycle hit a car on Highway 15 just outside of New Ulm. 53-year-old Kurt Winkler was driving a 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on 15 when he rear-ended a Pontiac Sunfire at the intersection with Shag Road on the south end of New Ulm at just before 6pm Wednesday. The Sunfire then collided with the rear of a 2010 Jeep. Winkler was ejected from his motorcycle in the collision, and was pronounced dead at the New Ulm Medical Center. He was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the Jeep was 57-year-old Pam Kitzberger of New Ulm, and not Vern Kitzberger as originally released by the State Patrol. She and the driver of the Sunfire, 32-year-old Danielle Hubert of Fairmont escaped injury. They were both wearing seatbelts. No alcohol was involved in the accident.
