A North Mankato man faces felony charges for an accidental shooting at a Mankato gas station. 36-year-old Joshua Wolters has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm in a city and carrying a pistol without a permit. The Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office had been called out for an unrelated probation violation arrest involving Wolters when authorities learned from the shooting victim’s father that his daughter may have been shot in the right leg by Wolters. Officers searched the home and found a 9mm Ruger hidden in a kitchen cabinet. The incident apparently happened while the victim was driving with Wolters and another woman as passengers in the car. Wolters allegedly took the gun out and it went off.
