The State Fair has announced a total of 47 new food items for this year’s Great Minnesota Get-Together. The new menu includes cocoa cheese bites, wine glazed deep-fried meatloaf, chocolate chili ice cream, and Blue Moon Dine-in Theater’s Comet corn, which is caramel corn flash-frozen in liquid nitrogen. State Fair Spokesperson Brienna Schuette says that when you eat it you can breathe cool smoke out of your mouth and nose. She also recommends the deep-fried bread pudding, sweet corn corndogs, mini-donut batter ice cream, bacon-wrapped grilled shrimp-on-a-stick, and pork belly sliders. Other options include candied bacon cannoli, grilled glazed doughnuts, and deep fried pickles with chocolate dipping sauce. The 47 new foods join the list of over 450 different treats sold at the 300 concession stands on the Fairgrounds. The Great Minnesota Get-Together runs August 22nd through September 2nd.
