Twins Lose 6th Straight,Make Roster Moves 21 May 13

Atlanta’s Dan Uggla hit a three-run homer in the first as the Braves went on to a 5-1 win over the Twins last night in Georgia. Freddie Freeman and Andrelton Simmons also drove in a run for Atlanta, which has won four straight since dropping five out of six. Julio Teheran allowed one run over eight-and-a-third innings to improve to 3-and-1 while Cory Gearrin recorded the final out for a save. Josh Willingham blasted a ninth-inning, solo homer for Minnesota, which has lost six straight. Kevin Correia allowed five runs over four innings to fall to 4-and-4. Twins Option Hernandez; Recall Thielbar

The Twins optioned pitcher Pedro Hernandez to Triple-A Rochester on Monday and recalled pitcher Caleb Thielbar from Rochester. Hernandez went 2-and-1 with a 5.85 ERA in eight games including six starts with the Twins. Thielbar had a 3.76 ERA in 17 outings with Rochester
