Twins Almost No Hit 25 May 13

Anibal Sanchez was two outs away from his second career no-hitter in leading the Tigers to a 6-0 win over the Twins. Joe Mauer singled up the middle off Sanchez to break up the bid with one away in the final frame. Samuel Deduno allowed six runs in five-and-a-third innings to take a loss in his first game of the year. Minnesota have lost ten in-a-row.


Twins Option Arcia To Rochester


Following last night’s loss to the Tigers, the Twins optioned outfielder Oswaldo Arcia to Triple-A Rochester. Minnesota will announce a corresponding roster move at a later time. Arcia is hitting .255 with four homers and 14 RBI this season in 30 games. The 22-year-old rookie saw his average drop from .319 just a few weeks ago.


Twins Resume Set With Tigers


The Twins and Tigers resume their four-game series at Comerica Park today. P.J. Walters takes the mound for Minnesota against Detroit’s Doug Fister. The Twins are looking to stop a ten-game slide. Minnesota has been outscored 64-28 during the losing streak. First pitch is set for 3:08 this afternoon.
