The High School Prom season is wrapping up around the local area, with nearly a dozen local schools holding their big dances this past weekend, including New Ulm. Many families have been forking over big bucks for Prom this year, with a recent survey saying that Prom spending has risen to an average of $1,139, with parents picking up around 60% of that cost. For girls that includes the perfect dress, shoes, tan, hair and makeup. And boys are spending anywhere from $60 to $200 on tuxedo rentals. Money is also needed for flowers, dinner, transportation and pictures to capture the perfect night.
