Sleepy Eye Child Pornography Sentencing 09 May 13

A 27-year-old Sleepy Eye man who had been facing multiple counts of possession of child pornography was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 7 years of supervised probation in Brown County Court this week. A special agent with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force reportedly discovered over 300 pornographic files on the computer of Joshua Adam Dietz last year through a peer-to-peer sharing site, and authorities then searched his home and confiscated a computer, several hard drives, a cell phone, and mail addressed to Dietz. He pleaded guilty to one felony count of dissemination of pornographic work this week, and 12 other charges were dismissed. In addition to the jail and probation time, Dietz was fined over $3,000, will be required to register as a predatory offender, and may not use the internet or have contact with anyone under 18 without permission, amongst other conditions.
