Same-Sex Marriage House Vote 11 May 13

Hundreds of people on both sides of the gay marriage issue were expressing their viewpoints at the Minnesota Capitol Thursday with the House voting on legalizing same-gender unions. The demonstrators filled the hallway outside the House chambers, where debate began at midday and wrapped up around 3 hours later, with the legislation passing on a vote of 75-59. With same-sex marriage approved by the House, the state Senate is expected to take up the legislation on Monday, paving the way for Governor Dayton to sign it next week.
