NU Postal Food Drive Results 14 May 13

United States Postal Service workers across the country took part in the annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive on Saturday. Mail carriers collected food shelf donations from homes across the local area for the drive as well, including in New Ulm, where a total of 3,721-pounds of food was collected for the New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf. New Ulm Food Shelf officials say that postal employees delivered three truckloads Monday afternoon, and that extra volunteers are needed at the food shelf building on South Valley street in New Ulm at 9am Wednesday to help sort and shelve the food donations.
