No Sunday Liquor Sales For MN 02 May 13

In what’s become a perennial fight at the legislature, the Minnesota House on Wednesday refused to allow liquor stores to be open on Sunday, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. The backers of Sunday liquor sales say Minnesota is losing business to neigboring states, and that something must be done. Opponents say that Sunday liquor sales will increase access to alcohol by 16%, while Democrats’ proposed tax increases on alcohol do not include any new funding for alcohol treatment or prevention.
