Minnesota Astronaut Blasts Off 29 May 13

Minnesota astronaut Karen Nyberg arrived at the International Space Station Tuesday night. The flight engineer from the Otter Tail County town of Vining was joined in the Soyuz rocket launch Tuesday by a Russian Federal Space Agency commander and a European Space Agency astronaut. The crew boarded the space station at around 11pm, marking only the second time that a crew has arrived at the space station less than a day after launch. Nyberg brought along her knitting and sketching equipment for the 6-month stay 255-miles from Earth.
