Midwest Drought Area Shrinking 06 May 13

Minnesota is now the only Midwest state still considered mostly in drought or some form of extremely dry conditions, but that is expected to change with this week’s drought monitor report. Minnesota’s winter-like weather last week was far from typical, but did bring more moisture to the state. About half of Iowa and a small portion of Wisconsin are also still experiencing dryness, but were also impacted with the heavy rain and snowfall from last week’s May storm, and drought areas in all three states are expected to continue to shrink.
