At least three people died on Minnesota roads over the Memorial Day weekend. The State Patrol says that an 81-year-old woman was killed Monday near Little Falls when her van collided with a car carrying three people. 24-year-old Jessica Parish-Olson of Waterville died Saturday morning after her car hit a utility pole in Le Sueur County. Her 2-year-old son was also in the vehicle but suffered only minor injuries. (Details Below) 19-year-old Landon Lien of Carlos was killed in an early Saturday morning rollover in Douglas County when he lost control of his pickup while trying to pass a truck. His 18-year-old passenger from Alexandria suffered non life-threatening injuries.
A 24-year-old Waterville woman was killed Saturday morning when her car ran off the road and hit a power pole. It happened at just before 8am on Highway 112 just west of Le Center. Jessica Parish-Olson was travelling eastbound in a Chevy Malibu when the car left the road and vaulted after hitting a field approach. She was pronounced dead at the Hennepin County Medical Center. Her 2-year-old son who was in the vehicle with her suffered non life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized in Shakopee.
