McLeod County Upholds 2nd Amendment 09 May 13

The McLeod County Board had a full house on Tuesday when they voted to support the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. The resolution approved on a 3-2 vote “will prevent federal infringement on the right to keep and bear arms; nullifying all federal acts in violation of the Second Amendment.” McLeod County Commissioner Jon Christensen brought the resolution to the Board, saying that “nullification” is an act of pushing back when “the federal government expands law beyond the boundaries of the constitution.” The split vote was based on the Board’s interpretation of whether they should wade into a federal and state issue.
