The northbound lanes of Highway 169 near LeSueur were closed for nearly 2 hours Wednesday afternoon following a crash that took the life of an 84-year-old Brooklyn Center woman. The crash happened at just before 2:30 Wednesday afternoon just north of Le Sueur. A northbound Peterbilt semi-truck driven by 35-year-old Lonnie Heidegger of New Germany collided with a northbound Hyundai Sonata driven by 61-year-old Marcia Vahl of Maple Grove. Heidegger was not hurt, but Vahl suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Le Sueur Hospital. The unidentified 84-year-old who was killed in the crash was a passenger in the Hyundai. Northbound 169 was closed for approximately 90 minutes Wednesday afternoon following the crash, which remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
