A 44-year-old Lafayette woman was injured in a crash with a semi-truck on Highway 14 just outside of New Ulm Thursday afternoon. A Chevy Lumina driven by 72-year-old Yvonne Dinsmore of Lafayette had been travelling northbound on Nicollet County Road 37 leaving New Ulm when it collided with the truck on Highway 14 at just after 3:30pm. Dinsmore and passenger 70-year-old Joann Portner of Lafayette escaped injury in the crash, but her other passenger, Terri Portner of Lafayette suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken to the New Ulm Medical Center. She was the only one in the vehicle not wearing a seatbelt, according to the State Patrol. The truck driver, 62-year-old William Puffer of Spring Valley was not hurt. It was raining and the highway was wet at the time of the crash.
