The cleanup continues in the City of Blue Earth after 17 cars derailed on a train carrying corn, and 10 tipped on their sides. A Union Pacific spokesperson says the 73-car train was carrying corn from Fairmont to Blair, Nebraska, when it derailed at about 5:20pm Sunday. Nobody was hurt. The cause is under investigation, and there’s no estimate yet on how much grain spilled. Crews worked through the night and had about half of the cars out of the way by Monday morning. The repairs on about 1,400 feet of track and two road crossings that were damaged were expected to be completed today (TUE), with the cleanup of the spilled corn continuing. The line carries around two trains a day.
