SW MN Damage Assessments 23 Apr 13

The preliminary damage assessments begin today (TUE) for public assistance from recent ice and snowstorms in southwestern Minnesota. The Department of Public Safety’s Julie Anderson says that state, local, and federal teams will be in Jackson, Nobles and Rock Counties. Anderson says many of the local officials have already tallied up some of the damage estimates. The statewide total will have to exceed $7.2-million for Governor Dayton to consider a request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration.
