Spring Storm Wintry Mix Continues 10 Apr 13

Much of our local area has now seen pretty much every type of precipitation this week — rain, sleet, ice pellets, and snow, and the wintery spring storm crawling into the Midwest is expected to bring several additional inches of snow to southern Minnesota by Thursday evening. Another round of sleet is expected to turn back to snow today (WED), and the National Weather Service is predicting 6 to 12 inches by the time it winds down. It won’t come close to an April record-breaker — over 21-inches of snow fell during April of 1983 — but the storm will likely leave snowfall for the month well over the April average of 3.6 inches.
