Authorities have determined that a fire at a mobile home in Olivia earlier this week was likely an incident of arson. Firefighters responded to the fire at the home on Hickory Avenue in Olivia at just after 10:30 Monday night, and upon arrival found flames coming out of the roof of the mobile home with heavy smoke blowing across the road. The residents were not home at the time, although a family pet was later found dead inside the residence. The home is being considered a total loss, and the 2 residents were displaced by the fire. The State Fire Marshall’s preliminary investigation into the fire has determined that it was suspicious in nature, and it is being considered to be a case of arson.
