A total of around 340 high school sophomores from 6 area high schools took part in the 6th Annual New Ulm Area Career Expo Wednesday. The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce’s Jenny Eckstein says that around 50 businesses and a half-dozen area colleges were on hand to show the kids their local career possibilities. The Career Expo is a joint project between the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, Bridging Brown County, and the New Ulm Economic Development Corporation. Students from all 3 New Ulm high schools, both Sleepy Eye schools and Comfrey High School participated this year. There was also a panel of young entrepreneurs from the area that talked to the sophomores about their opportunities.
