Mn/DOT Worker Memorial Day 29 Apr 13

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is observing Worker Memorial Day today (MON) and honoring those who have died on road construction projects. Since 1960, a total of 33 Mn/DOT employees and 16 contractors have been killed on the job. Mn/DOT Spokesperson Kevin Gutknecht says the new Interstate 35-W bridge in Minneapolis will be lit in orange all day as a tribute to fallen road workers. The agency will also observe ten seconds of silence at 2pm today.
