Millions In New Fees Proposed 20 Apr 13

From $3 more for a driver’s license to higher charges for water usage, hundreds of millions of dollars in fee increases are strewn throughout the budget bills starting to pass at the Capitol. Minnesota House budgets contain roughly $600-million in new fees or fee increases, while the Senate budgets look to raise about half that. That’s in addition to the $2.5-billion in taxes proposed by Democrats in control of the Legislature and Democratic Governor Mark Dayton. The state is looking at a $627-million budget deficit.
