The woman accused of kidnapping her own children from a foster home in Pemberton last year was sentenced to 5 years of probation in Blue Earth County Court on Friday. 21-year-old Reina Marie Gandarilla was also staying at the home when she took her 2-year-old son and 4-month-old daughter from the facility without permission in November. A nationwide arrest warrant was issued, and the 3 were found at a hotel in Mankato 6 days later, primarily through the use of her cell phone records. Gandarilla pleaded guilty to depriving another of parental rights. In addition to the probation time, she was given credit for 29 days in jail, was fined $500, and must complete 67 hours of Sentence To Service work. She will also be required to undergo a psychological evaluation.
