An Open House concerning the future of Highway 169 in St. Peter is being held this week. Businesses and residents are being asked to bring their ideas on ways to improve access to the highway on the north end of St. Peter to the meeting. Department of transportation staff will be on hand at the open house to talk about Highway 169 intersections in the community, especially with St. Julian and Highway 22, which have higher-than-average crash rates. Mn/DOT plans to resurface the southbound lanes of 169 in St. Peter in 2014, and raise the 2-miles of flood-prone roadway between St. Peter and Le Sueur. The open house to discuss these upcoming improvements and ways to improve the highway’s intersections takes place from 4:30 to 6:30pm Wednesday at the St. Peter Community Center.
