Work on Highway 14 in North Mankato is scheduled to resume this coming Monday, weather permitting. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says that traffic on Highway 14 will be only minimally impacted by the work this year. Traffic will stay two-way on the eastbound lanes as it is currently, and the crossover from the four-lane section will move east to a location between Lookout Drive and Lor-Ray Drive to accommodate work on the Lookout Drive ramp. Later in the summer there will be a night closure for setting beams on the Nicollet County Road 41 bridge as well. County Road 41 will remain open to the south roundabout of the new interchange and area rural residents can continue to use Pleasant View Drive to access North Mankato. Work scheduled for 2013 includes: paving westbound 14 along with permanent signage and striping, constructing the new County Road 41 bridge, paving County Road 41 interchange ramps and constructing roundabouts at ramp terminals. The project includes a total of three roundabouts. The entire project is expected to be completed this fall.
