Guilty Plea For Local Car Chase 05 Apr 13

A Redwood Falls man who led law authorities on a 38-mile-long high-speed car chase through Renville and Redwood Counties in December pleaded guilty to fleeing police and driving while impaired in court on Wednesday. 46-year-old Brian Noel Hester had initially faced numerous charges, including attempted murder, for the chase, which reached speeds of upwards of 70 miles-per-hour, including through the City of Morton. Hester had reportedly tried to run over two officers during the chase, but the attempted murder charges were later dropped. Several other charges will now be dismissed as well as part of the plea agreement, and Hester is expected to be sentenced to 35-months in prison for the plea due to his extensive number of prior convictions for similar incidents.
