Two local-area women were injured in a car crash on Highway 68 in Redwood County on Saturday. It happened at just before 5pm at the intersection with County Road 13. The State Patrol says 23-year-old Renee Bennett of Springfield was driving a Ford Taurus southbound on 13 when she failed to stop at the stop sign for Highway 68 and broadsided an eastbound Ford Windstar driven by 45-year-old Sherre Danell of New Ulm. Both women were taken to the Redwood Area Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Both vehicles were totaled.
A husband and wife from Madelia were injured in a rollover accident on Highway 169 in Nicollet County Saturday afternoon. 58-year-old Arlen Maloney was driving a Toyota Rav-4 northbound on 169 in North Mankato when he struck the median at around 2:30pm and the vehicle rolled, coming to rest on its roof in the southbound lane. Maloney and his passenger, 58-year-old Joy Maloney of Madelia were both taken to the Mankato Mayo Hospital with minor injuries. They were both wearing their seatbelts.
