A change of venue request in the upcoming trial of a Cokato man accused of killing 3 people in a car crash last summer has been denied. 22-year-old Paul Anthony Wickenhauser faces a total of 15 felony charges for the triple fatality crash east of Willmar, including criminal vehicular homicide. The crash killed an Atwater woman and her 8-year-old daughter, as well as her mother-in-law. A 5-year-old boy was seriously injured also. The change of venue denial was issued Tuesday, but other issues have not yet been ruled on, including a motion to suppress the evidence of Wickenhauser’s blood tests, which showed that his blood-alcohol content was higher than the legal limit for driving at the time of the crash.
