The search for a new superintendent for the New Ulm School District continues today (MON), with interviews with the 6 semi-finalists getting underway. The candidates will be interviewed by both the District 88 School Board and an 11-member committee made up of district staff and community members. Three finalists will then be named, and another round of interviews will take place next week, with a decision possibly being made as early as next Thursday. Current District 88 Superintendent Harold Remme is retiring at the end of June. A total of 15 applications for the position were received. The 6 semi-finalists include: GFW Superintendent Jeff Bertrang, Houston Superintendent Jean Broadwater, St. Peter Elementary Principal Karen Coblentz, Underwood Superintendent Jeremiah Olson, MACCRAY Superintendent Gregory Schmidt, and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Superintendent Kevin Wellen.
