New Ulm’s August Schell Brewing Company has announced a multi-million dollar slate of expansion projects. Schell’s President Ted Marti says that the first phase will be a $2-million project, with work expected to get underway at the brewery this May. He says that work will involve filling in an alley with a new room, adding new tanks, adding on to the brewhouse and adding new water tanks. The expansion projects will increase Schell’s brewing capacity by 100,000 barrels when completed. Plans also call for installing energy-efficient upgrades at the Schell’s brewhouse. The Brewery plans to add 4 sales employees as part of the expansion as well.
