A Redwood Falls man has been convicted of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct following a 2-day jury trial. 29-year-old Daniel Leith Renville was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in Redwood Falls in August of 2012. Redwood County Attorney Steven Collins called it a “disturbing crime” because the assault occurred in a room in which a young child was sleeping, and the woman suffered bodily injury. She testified against Renville in the trial. The jury deliberated for about 2 hours before finding him guilty. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 8th, and faces between 12 to 17 years in prison.
