A 12-year-old boy has been arrested following a report of a school shooting in New Prague Wednesday morning that turned out to be a hoax. Scott County Sheriff Kevin Studnicka says that the 12-year-old student allegedly called 911 from his cell phone at around 8am and claimed a shooter with an A-K-47 assault rifle was in the building and there were a couple of victims. The district’s buildings were locked-down while an investigation into who the caller was got underway, and the student was reportedly taken into custody about 30 minutes later. There were no injuries, and New Prague students were sent home for the rest of the day. They were back in school today (THU). This was the second such incident for the school district this year. Last month a 15-year-old New Prague High School sophomore was charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct after being accused of leaving a note in a bathroom claiming that a bomb was in the building. That student was expelled.
